Bring ‘new life’ into the world

In my head I know all the factors that must work together to bring this new life into the world (if I’m very good in theory). But, it’s in my heart during working with, assisting and watching the laboring women for one week I have been posted there, I truly believe that each labor and birth is a miracle.

I was really excited to get involved in helping these mothers and worked together with the Midwife Nurse, JM, JMP and Doctors in labor room to bring the new life into the world. I loved to share with my family, friends and everyone how was I felt for the first time I observed the delivery. This is new experience, new challenging in my nursing world.

Maybe, for certain midwife, it was the normal things in her life, normal job that she does everyday, but for me…every time I observed and get involved, it is a memorable moment. It is a miracle. The moment that will never occur again for any of us. It shows the power of our Lord, the Creator of the human being, the Creator of the world and every single things in it.

Mother…who endured hours of painful labor.

For sure I have empathy looking the mothers delivered the baby. How suffered they are. But of course I can’t feel the labor pain that they felt, because I never delivered and get struggled for it. The pain I think no suitable word that can be described. Contraction of the cervix and uterus really give pain to the mother.

Every time, I get involved in delivery even though just observed, I was non stop pray for the laboring mother especially during the 2nd stage of delivery where it begins with complete dilatation of cervix for 10cm and ends with birth of the baby, looking at their face, giving them support, touching with therapeutic.

Hope that Allah s.w.t will help them in this ‘perjuangan’, so that they can deliver the baby safely. The mother saves and the baby saves without any complication.

Pure and innocent baby

When the baby came out successfully, at first we suctioned the baby until all the secretion came out and he or she can breathe properly. We showed the baby to the mother, asked the mother and father (if he accompanied during delivery) to identify the gender of their child.

Then, we put the baby onto the mother for bonding purpose, mother can hold her baby. This technique is very important to create the bonding between mother and baby. Mother can feel safe and comfort her child.

The newborn babies looked so pure and innocent. Every time I looked at them and hold them, I feel so tranquil and calm. When I kissed with my lips the baby’s soft forehead, I feel so relax, forgot about problems that I faced. I’m always fall in love with them. It’s wonderful feeling. Another miracle from Allah.

They are a good source of inspiration. A new hopes for the world that going to be a khalifah insya Allah, continuing ‘dakwah’ for Islam. Becoming a better muslim. That is my prayers for them. People without sins, having innocent face.

How lucky the mother in the world that never can be gained by father, that they have been raised by Allah s.w.t to a very high position in life.

Motherhood is a special status that Allah has bestowed upon selected women. I hope I can be one of them! Insya Allah. Before I leave this world. A big hope. I wish I can have children that always give prayers for me when I’m not ‘here’. Ameen.
